Must eat in Bangkok – Joke Perd Mho Paradise

Eating porridge while you are overseas may seem like a joke, but the fact is Thais love porridge. It’s so good that there’s always a crowd. This stall we are recommending is special.

Joke Perd Mho Paradise (โจ๊กเปิดหม้อ สาขาพาราไดซ์ ศรีนครินทร์) is located directly opposite Paradise Park Mall along Srinakarin Road. If you are visiting Talad Rot Fai Srinakarin, you may want to have dinner here before heading over since they are within the vicinity.

It was an appetizing sight of glove-clad cooks manning different clay pot orders under hot charcoal fire.

Opened from 4 pm to midnight, Joke Perd Mho Paradise serves porridge too amazing to resist. There are three types of porridge base, the tom yam porridge, the super chicken porridge, and the original pork porridge. Get ready to customize your porridge with over 30 ingredients to choose from. The clay pot porridge here can be mixed and matched with different ingredients, including salted egg, peanut, minced pork, fish slices, etc, to suit different needs. In short, order their set menu, then add on if you want.

The porridge is not those silky-smooth, creamy types. It has visible rice grains which are neither too thick nor too watery. They were also very generous with the main ingredients.

You should get the Giant Prawn with Tom Yum Porridge (899 Baht; Approximately S$36).

Humongous prawn, the size of a lobster, is served. The prawn is so big and juicy. It is beyond words as to how fresh this seafood was. Look at the size difference between the giant monster prawn and the normal ones!

This porridge please is definitely a must-try if you are in Bangkok!

Ps: The later you visit the stall, the harder is it to find a seat.
